Still considered by many to be among the greatest athletes of all time for his prowess in football and at the Olympics, this vintage 8x10" photo shows Jim Thorpe during his stint playing baseball in the majors. Photo is 10x8" with Thorpe rounding the bases after hitting a home run at the Polo Grounds, front has handwritten "Jim Thorpe on his way to a home run at N.Y. Giants Polo Grounds, NY." Bottom border of photo has tape over it with identical inscription but with year "1915" added at end. To top it off, it's signed in pencil on reverse, "Property of Jim Thorpe" next to International Film Service stamp. Photo has visible creases, minor edge paper loss and minor tears to edges; comes with PSA auction LOA.
