One of the finest and most historic stadium flags we have ever handled, this immense red, white, and blue flag flew at Sportsman's park in celebration of the St. Louis Cardinals' 1964 World Series Championship. Measuring an expansive roughly 112x60" (about 9'4"x5'), a bright red field bears bold white letters stating "WORLD CARDINALS CHAMPS" (sic), with the year on the blue field across the side of this double-sided artifact. Shows great wear as it does have some water staining that would be expected from hanging outside but remains a magnificent display piece with metal grommets intact. Playing at Sportsman's Park - which was commonly known as Busch Stadium by that period but was the forerunner to Busch Memorial Stadium, which opened in '66 - the Redbirds won 93 games to capture the National League Pennant before defeating the New York Yankees in a 7-game World Series.
