Philip King is best remembered as a football player, football coach and even a lawyer. He played quarterback for the Princeton Tigers from 1890 to 1893, and was selected to the College Football All-America Team in 1891, 1892, and 1893. After his playing days, he served as the head football coach at the University of Wisconsin–Madison from 1896 to 1902 and again in 1905, and at Georgetown University in 1903, compiling a career college football record of 73–14–1 and was ultimately inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame as a player in 1962. Offered rare letter from the College Football Hall of Famer and 3 time All American written to P.M. Downing in response to a Yale coaching job that King turns down. Written on "Brown Hall" letterhead, this early football memento presents in near perfect condition and has been encapsulated Authentic by PSA.
