One of the neatest items we have handled - and that is saying a lot - in this circa 1930s hand-carved Babe Ruth bust. Combining the two uniquely American genres of baseball and folk art, this handsome piece measures 18" from the base to the top of the Bambino's head and about 12" across at it's widest point, weighing in at 15 pounds. Has some minor cracking and grain separation that adds to the beautiful patina and astonishing detail in this spectacular tribute to a man who was a legend in his own time, and whose mystique continues to grow to this day.
