High quality run of the first 5 series of the granddaddy of all Topps sets - 1952 baseball! Better yet, most cards still retain the high gloss and strong corners they had when printed almost 70 years ago! Many stars and specials are included in this ‘low number’ run: #1 Pafko (PSA 3.5), 2 Runnels (VG-EX), 11 Rizzuto EX, oc), 26 Irvin (EX+), 33 Spahn (PSA 7), 36 Hodges (PSA 6.5), 37 Snider (PSA 6), 49 Sain (Page bio; PSA 5), 65 Slaughter (EX), 66 Roe (EX-MT), 67 Reynolds (EX-MT), 80 Wehmeier (EX, slight oc), 88 Feller (EX+, light print lines), 91 Schoendienst (EX), 175 Martin (PSA 6), 191 Berra (PSA 2), 215 Bauer (NM), 216 Ashburn (PSA 4), 232 Cox (NM), 243 Doby (EX+), 246 Kell (EX+), 268 Lemon (NM) and 277 Wynn (NM+). Only card missing is the #261 Willie Mays rookie. The remaining cards grade 18% NM or better, 25% EX-MT, 32% EX, 17% VG-EX and 8% VG or slightly lesser. About 10% of the cards have centering issues, and of the 80 cards in the first series, 66 are black backs. A magnificent low number run of ’52 Topps, with more than a couple worth grading! A tremendous start to a great ’52 Topps set – do you have the high numbers to finish it off?
