3 great Type 1 photographs of Giants star catcher "Chief" Meyers, c. 1910. Meyers played for the Giants under the great John McGraw and was the primary backstop for Hall of Famer Christy Mathewson. Meyers hit over .300 three straight years (leading the Giants in batting each year) and helped them win three straight National League pennants from 1911 to 1913, participating in the World Series each of those years. He appears front-and-center in each of the (3) photos in this offering, his image prominently displayed in sepia tones common for the era. Except for a light wrinkle or two, all 3 photos are unmarked, clear and well-defined. There are multiple "Brown Brothers" credit stamps on the reverse, along with "Chief Meyers of Giants" written in pencil. Each photo is approx. 7" x 4 3/4" and presents overall in strong Excellent condition. A great star addition for the early 20th century Type I collector.
