Great game worn 1981 Franco Harris Pittsburgh Steelers jersey. The Hall of Fame fullback played an integral role in four Steelers Super Bowl teams (IX, X, XIII, and XIV) and will be forever remembered for his part of one of the most famous NFL plays in history, "The Immaculate Reception." In a 1972 playoff game with Oakland, the Steelers trailed the Raiders 7-6 with only 22 seconds left. A Terry Bradshaw pass intended for John "Frenchy" Fuqua arrived just as did Raider safety Jack Tatum. Officially, the ball bounced off Tatum and into Harris' hands, and Harris ran the ball in for the winning touchdown. Of course, Harris wasn't about just that one famous play as the punishing runner accumulated 12,120 lifetime yards. White jersey, with black numerals and name in gold. Back reads, "Harris 32." Front and sleeves read, "32." Thankfully, this jersey is not immaculate, as it exhibits wonderful game use with 40 team repairs, paint transfers, abrasions, and loose threads. Staining on front. Year "81" tag along with Sand-Knit and Steelers tags on tail. This was originally sold by us in our Spring 2019 as part of the Pittsburgh Steelers Jersey Archive and was last worn by Franco Harris up until the time that it was sold by us; comes directly from the Pittsburgh Steelers.
