Two legends - Babe Ruth and photographer Charles Conlon - combine in this epic glass plate negative taken at Yankee Stadium in 1932. Straight from the camera of Conlon, this original, one of a kind, negative measures 4x5" and is an exceptional shot of the follow-through of his mighty swing (though, alas, based on the Bambino's gaze this looks to have been a pop-up). Comes with original paper envelope that has Conlon's writing on it; Babe RUTH - Yankees - Batting, in pencil, with the address of 16th St. & 7th Avenue New York, in Olde English type. Negative itself is also identified at top by Conlon. While many copies may have been made of the photo, this is the one-and-only negative from which they all originated. Another magnificent find from the massive Brown Brothers collection.
