Great Type I photo from 1917 of Hall of Famer Tris Speaker, taken by renowned photographer Charles Conlon. The spectacular center fielder is shown in follow-through of a throw in this 9.5x8" image, which has some edge creasing, right edge trimmed, and small blemish in front of Speaker's thigh. Reverse is packed with info, including "Charles M. Conlon, Evening Telegram, New York" stamp, handwritten ID of Speaker, team (Cleveland) and $25,000, which is typewritten at the top; TRIS SPEAKER, SALARY $25,000. There is also other pencil writing, likely publisher's instructions and other info (does not appear to be by Conlon's hand). Encapsulated PSA Type I Authentic, dated c. 1918.
