This would be the last hurrah for large-format cards from Topps, as 1957 would usher in the smaller-sized cards that we still see today. The majority of cards from 1-100 are white-backed; most of the cards from 101-180 are gray-backs. All team cards have the name "centered;" the three missing cards are #33 (Clemente), 121 (Pirates team), and 166 (Dodgers team). Overall, the set grades 8% NM or better, 41% EX to EX-MT, 44% VG to VG-EX and 7% slightly lesser. A very nice, near-complete Topps baseball set from 1956. Total of 337 cards. Part of The William J.
