A high grade near-set of Bowman Black & White baseball. Bowman outdid themselves in 1953, producing not only a color set of 160, but also the cards offered here - a black & white set of 64. This high grade group is missing only #36 Piersall for completion. Overall the collection grades 80% NM or better, with most of the cards exhibiting a near fresh gloss that only comes with cards that have barely been handled. If there are any concerns, it would only be that roughly 1/3 of the cards are somewhat off-center (very common with this issue) and a few have light paper wrinkles. Other than that, a beauty of a set. Several stars have already been graded by PSA: 15 Mize (VG-EX 4), 25 Sain (EX 5), 26 Roe (EX 5), 27 Lemon (EX-MT 6), 28 Wilhelm (EX 5), and 39 Stengel (EX-MT 6). Other cards in this collection are certainly worth grading, if you want the look and feel of a registry-quality set. Pick up a high-grade Jimmy Piersall and have yourself one amazing Bowman set.
