ADDENDUM:  This set is missing the #26 card.  In addition, it consists of multiples of the following cards; 97 (2), 98 (4), 99 (2), 101 (4), 102 (2), and 103 (3).

The Topps Freedom’s War set, produced in 1950, highlights all the important events and persons involved in the Korean War. The cards feature planes, ships, weapons, medals, generals - and the infamous die-cut tank cards. Near complete at 203 cards, it became an instant hit with the youth of the day, as wartime events usually made up the headlines. The highlights of the set are the seven (7) tank cards (#s 97-103), difficult to find in any condition let alone the relatively good quality examples offered here. Cards of the set were distributed in three printings over a period of two years, and can be found with either tan (187) or gray backs (27). Cards grade 22% NM or better, 45% EX-MT, 18% VG-EX and 15% lesser, with about 20% slightly to moderately oc. Tank cards, of which there are 18 (with 11 being duplicates, and one not perforated) grade 2 EX-MT, 7 EX, 6 VG-EX and 3 lesser (without regard to folding). Note: these cards also came in 2-card panels, accounting for perforations on one side of a number of cards. A nice looking complete set, from the early days of Topps.
