ADDENDUM:  This image is guaranteed to be Type I

Vintage circa late 1910s image of Chick Gandil, best known for his role in the infamous 1919 "Black Sox" scandal. The first baseman is shown warming up in follow-through of a toss in this 7.25x10" artifact, taken by famed sports photographer Charles Conlon. Enforcing his reputation as a malcontent, Gandil was the ringleader of the 1919 Chicago White Sox players who conspired to throw that year's World Series, and pencil ID on verso actually refers to "Black Sox," along with a very light Conlon signature that appears to have been erased. Also has stamps from Brown Brothers as this is part of their vast photo archive.
