Vintage photo was taken on one of the saddest days Yankee Stadium ever had. Dated August 18, 1948, the photo highlights the sad mourners as they stand in line to pay there last respects to Babe Ruth who was lying in state. 6x9" photo features a Brown Brothers stamp on the back with a hand written notation that reads, "Crowds paying tribute to Babe Ruth at Yankee Stadium where some 50,000 moved past open casket. Aug 18, 1948." Some creasing at top and bottom edges.
