A great lot of 1955 Bowman baseball! It was Bowman’s last effort to stay alive, considering the onslaught of Topps sets with more graphics and bigger stars. Still, many kids were drawn to seeing their favorite players with a TV set backdrop, and we enjoy that different, fun look to this day. And to make things even more interesting, Bowman added 30 umpire cards to the set as well as a handful of "error/corrected" cards. This fine collection of 105 grades 80% in NM or better condition, with MANY cards worth grading. Several stars have already been graded by SGC: 10 Rizzuto (4.5), 22 Campanella (5.5), 33 Fox (6), 130 Ashburn (8), 168 Berra (5), 169 Furillo (5), 184 Mays (Authentic), 202 Mantle (4.5) and 242 Banks (4). Although most cards are commons, 25 are high numbers, 6 are umpires and a handful have even been autographed. A great start to a high grade ’55 Bowman set. Total of 105 cards.
