Rare blanket belonging to 1959 Syracuse Orangemen football lineman Dave Appelhof. This bright green blanket with white lettering covers a lot of ground, measuring 72x60", with "Cotton Bowl Classic" around a raised embroidered cotton logo. There is a blue-green stain about one foot long on one edge of the white border, otherwise very well preserved. These were given to the players from that year's game so these are rarely, if ever, seen. Also comes with 1960 Cotton Bowl Classic media guide in VG condition with water stains and crease to back cover. Syracuse topped Texas to complete its 10-0 National Championship season in that game, largely on the strength of Ernie Davis' first quarter 87-yard touchdown reception. Also comes with Appelhof's personal 1960 Cotton Bowl program that he signed on the cover. Signed LOA from Appelhoff included.
