Harry Truman was President of the United States, the Korean war was in full force and at a small ballpark in St. Petersburg, Florida a young star was born. During a spring training game at Al Lang Stadium, Billy Martin stepped on to the field, joining his former manager Casey Stengel, to begin his Yankee career. Martin would go on to play until 1961 before joining the ranks of the managerial class and beginning his storied and infamous career as a firebrand in the dugout. This is a great piece of New York Yankee and baseball history. The stub has been slabbed by PSA and graded EX-MT.
