From the era of the 1913 opening of Ebbets Field, this sign points to the central artery for the borough of Brooklyn, Flatbush Avenue, which runs from the Manhattan Bridge to Jamaica Bay. This vintage metal sign graced one of the avenue's intersections, where it hung above its residents, pedestrians and motorists for several years. Measuring over 25" wide, the sign reveals lots of character with layers of black paint and yellowed white hand-painted lettering. It is double-sided, with one side better than the other.
