Rating as the best horse racing stereocard we have owned, this 3.75x7" card is from the "Chicago & Vicinity Series" by Lovejoy & Foster, with their address of 88 State Street, Chicago, Illinois on the front. It displays the historic Dexter Park, circa 1870s, and shows people in the grandstand and sitting on foreground fence, as well as the race track. The structure pictured is a large one, possibly the Starter's Building. On back of the card, which is in EX condition, "Dexter Park" is written in script. Built in the years following the Civil War, Dexter Park was also the home of the 1870 Chicago White Stockings baseball team.
