This spectacular oil on canvas of hockey superstar Pavel Bure is a huge 89x48". "The Russian Rocket" is depicted in stunning color in his rookie season (1991-92) as a Vancouver Canuck wearing the classic 75th Anniversary NHL patch. He would go on to win the Calder Trophy that year. The artistic style is magnificent, in the artist's signature "dripping paint" style. By the accomplished sports artist John Robertson, he is well known for his work with the National Football League among others. His current project is paintings for the new Minnesota Vikings stadium and his past work includes five large-scale paintings for the new San Francisco 49ers' football stadium (Levi Stadium), Prudential Center (home of the New Jersey Devils), the Amway Sports Arena in Orlando (home of the Orlando Magic) and various other commercial projects.
