Here's a lot of four wonderful pen and ink cartoons by Karl Hubenthal, who was the Willard Mullin of the West Coast. He was the key sports cartoonist for the mighty Hearst Publications, and was "the guy" on the West Coast. 1) Spectacular 1944 football and WWII aviation-themed drawing has a 1944 ticket to Air Force Flyers vs. Randolph Field Ramblers right on it. 2) 1950 California football with a Helms theme is signed by five of the players: Guy Blackburn, Pete O'Garro, Ed Palmquist, Steve Turner and Jim Contratto. 3) "Happy Birthday" to Mr. Paul Helms of the Helms Museum with a tennis theme. 4) For Pacific Coast League baseball umpire Jack Powell, also mentions Helms in the drawing.
