The 1939 class was the first group of players inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame and all members, including legends Babe Ruth and Cy Young, were in attendance for the induction Grand Opening. This lot features five hand-signed items of the original Hall of Fame members. First is a signed 1941 bank check of Ty Cobb. Second is a is 1921 typed letter signed by Connie Mack on his beautiful letterhead with photo of Shibe Park. Next is a full name signed of Grover Cleveland Alexander on an album page matted with 4.5" by 5.75" photo. The last two items are a Larry "Nap" Lajoie signed dated 3x5" government postcard and a Tris Speaker signed 1.5" by 3.5" cut signature. All signatures are in pen and average 7-8/10. Items average VG condition.
