Former pitcher Fred Hutchinson spent his final six major league seasons as manager of the Cincinnati Reds, and this is his contract to manage the ballclub for two of his final three seasons: 1962 and 1963, during which he drew an annual salary of $37,500. Signed by "Wm. O. Dewitt" and "Frederick Hutchinson," the signatures are both 8/10 and Hutchinson has added "Bradenton Beach, Fla." on the address line below his name. It is also signed by Warren Giles as NL president and stamped as received on August 29, 1961. There are typical mailing folds with some separation of the paper at those creases. Also, there are a few small chips of missing paper on the right-hand side of the second page.
