Large collection of approximately 1,350 photos, nearly all of which picture individuals who played with the Philadelphia Phillies at some point in their career. Most of the photos picture the player in a Phillies uniform, but some are pictured as a member of another club, either before or after they played with the Phillies. The majority of the photos picture players whose careers spanned the years 1940 through 1980. Although many news photos are represented here, the vast majority of the photos are second or third-generation prints, including team publicity stills. Many photos picture the player or players off field, either at home, in the hospital, or at various events with their wives. Included in the collection are also premium photos (such as those issued by Baseball Magazine), as well as some magazine and periodical photos. Many players are represented more than once, either in different poses, or as actual duplicate photos. Approximately half the photos measure 8x10", with the remainder in various smaller sizes (mainly 7x9" or 5x7"). Approximately 20% of the photos have been trimmed to their current dimensions. Condition ranges from Poor to Excellent, averaging Good.
