sent to MEARS
The white flannel button-down jersey is lettered "Braves" across the front and features the number "44" on the left breast and reverse. All letters and numerals are applied in red on navy tackle twill. A white strip tag in the collar displays the player's name, year, and set number ("H. Aaron 64 Set 2") chain-stitched in black. A "Wilson 42") label appears on the left front tail. The Braves "Screaming Indian" patch is located on the left sleeve. Following the 1964 season this jersey was sent down for use in the minors (a common practice), at which time Aaron's name was removed from the reverse. Despite the removal, one can still clearly see the outline of the name "H Aaron" on the reverse, directly above the number. Aside from the name removal, the jersey is original as issued and displays heavy wear, including some scattered staining on the reverse.
