The white knit pinstripe jersey features the Yankees' "NY" logo on the left breast and the number "2" on the reverse, each applied in navy tackle twill. Located on the left front tail are a "Majestic" label, a "2008" year tag, and a "48" size tag. A wash tag with the proper code ("0062") appears on the interior front tail. A "1923-2008 Yankee Stadium" patch adorns the left sleeve, while the right sleeve displays a 2008 All-Star Game patch (the 2008 All-Star Game was held at Yankee Stadium). The jersey is original as issued and displays light wear. 

Jeter batted .300 with 11 home runs and 69 RBI in 2008, which was the club's final season playing in the original Yankee Stadium. Considered the greatest shortstop in New York Yankees franchise history, Jeter helped lead the club to seven pennants and five World Championships in his twenty seasons with the club. Jeter retired after the 2014 season with 260 home runs, 1,311 RBI, a .311 lifetime average, and 3,465 hits, which is the most by any player in Yankees franchise history.
