Displayed is a circa 1962-63 game used and team-signed Bill Gadsby Detroit Red Wings hockey stick, with 16 signatures, including not only that of Hall of Fame defenseman Gadsby, but also the signatures of three more Hall of Famers: Center Alex Delvecchio, left wing and Detroit Red Wings coach Sid Abel, and right wing Gordie Howe. Delvecchio scored 501 goals and added 926 assists for 1,427 NHL points. Abel notched 188 goals and added 284 assists for 1,427 NHL points, and Howe, in the NHL part of his career had 801 goals, had 1,049 assists, for 1,850 NHL points. The 1962-63 Detroit Red Wings made it to the Stanley Cup Finals, losing 4-1 in games to the Toronto Maple Leafs.

Gadsby played in the NHL from 1946-66: Chicago Black Hawks (1946-47 to 1954-55), New York Rangers (1954-55 to 1960-61), Detroit Red Wings (1961-62 to 1965-66). Amazingly, Gadsby contracted polio in 1952, but was able to make a complete recovery. A two-way defenseman, Gadsby was a 3-time First Team All-Star and a 4-time Second Team All-Star. In 1958-59 with the Rangers, Gadsby set a then-record for season assists by a defenseman, with 46. For his era, the great Gadsby was a very high scoring defenseman, and he finished his playing career with 130 goals, 438 assists, and 568 points.

The offered team-signed hockey stick has the manufacturer's name, "Northland (Pro)" stamped on the side and also on the butt end, where the manufacturer's name is partially covered with black tape. On the thinner side of the stick has a stamped "Gadsby" and a stamped "LIE NO 6." The handle also shows "4," written by an unknown hand in blue marker. The game used stick has original black tape on both the blade and butt ends. The stick shows nice use. The stick measures approx. 53" from the butt end to the start of the blade, and the blade is approx. 11.25" long. The stick weighs 23 ounces. In addition to the aforementioned signatures, the team-signed stick has these Detroit Red Wings autographs: Hank Bassen, Doug Barkley, Parker MacDonald, Andre Pronovost, Marcel Pronovost, Norm Ullman, Alex Faulkner, and MORE. The signatures are in blue or black ballpoint ink, a few are not fully legible, and the fully legible signatures average 8/10.
