A far cry from today's gear, these all-wood hockey sticks date back to a pair of goalies in the 1940s. Both Northland Professional sticks are stamped; one for Chuck Rayner, Hall of Fame goalie for the NY Rangers, and the other for Baz Bastien who played for the Pittsburgh Hornets and then coached the team. Each has a butt-end of electrical tape, while cloth tape runs through much of the paddle and blade of each. The wood grain has settled in to a dark brown, and there is some cracking (thus, the cloth tape) and outstanding use shown throughout both pieces.
