From the second of two races in the infamous "Jersey Crown," this beautiful crystal trophy with base is from the 1985 Garden State Stakes. Robert Brennan offered a $2 million bonus to any horse who could win the Kentucky Derby and sweep the aforementioned crown, and Buck's owners opted to forgo a chance at the Triple Crown to pursue the bonus. Weighing 59 ounces, the crystal measures 6x6.75" and 6x8" with base and is engraved "Baccarat, Tauni de Lesseps" with Baccarat France circular stamp on bottom. There is one small chip on the bottom corner but it is not noticeable when displayed in the base. On that base is a gold plaque engraved "The Garden State Stakes, $300,000 Added, April 20th 1985, Won by Hunter Farm's Spend A Buck, Trainer C. Gambolati." This stunning item was obtained directly from Cam Gambolati and comes with signed handwritten letter from him.
