In one of the earliest endorsement contracts involving an NBA player, superstar shooting guard George Gervin and Nike co-founder Phil Knight inked the deal disclosed on these very pages on March 23, 1977. Gervin and Knight signed the last of the 12 pages (detached from rest of contract) when Nike was still known as Blue Ribbon Sports. There is also another 10-page contract dated March 23, 1977, signed by Gervin twice, and Knight twice.
