No two fighters were more linked with the history of boxing in the 1920s than Jack Dempsey and Gene Tunney. The two met in 1926 and Tunney took Dempsey's heavyweight title in a competitive fight in Philadelphia. The rematch in Chicago the next year looked like a Dempsey win when he put Tunney down, but Dempsey did not get to a neutral corner which resulted in the famous "long count" by referee Dave Barry. Tunney arose and defended his title. Offered here is a beautiful print put out by Sports Illustrated picturing the two fighters and sporting bold pencil signatures of each. Not creased or torn. Has some minor spotting and light surface wear, and measures 18x22." Authenticated by PSA/DNA and has their label at lower right corner.
