Billy Conn was a great Light Heavyweight Champion of the late 1930s and early 1940s, but he is best remembered for his failed attempt to take the Heavyweight title from Joe Louis in 1941. This is a circa late 30s, early 40s fight worn robe attributed to Conn. Sporting green satin with white trim, on the reverse in white letters are sewn the words, BILLY CONN. On the front left breast in white script lettering are sewn the words, Billy the Kid. Missing the sash, there is a label from G&S Sporting Goods in the collar. There is some color discoloration and some soiling and we can not attribute this to a particular fight, though it does date to this era and is Conn's size and style of robe. Comes with letter from Craig Hamilton of JO Sports, Inc.
