This ball is something of a mystery. It contains the official National League stamp of John K. Tener, who was league president from 1913-18, however, it is our belief that this ball was made after that period. The stampings are near perfect with "Official National League" and "Patented August 31-1909" on the sweet spot and it has correct Splading logos also with faded "John K. Tener" stamp in red on a side panel. Despite the markings, we think that it was issued later, possibly in the 1950s, based on the leather and stitching. Still, it remains a wonderful example that is in NRMT condition, other than the faded stamp and a design in pen opposite the sweet spot labeling.
