One of the most versatile athletes ever to break a sweat, Jim Thorpe is the top story in this framed and matted 1912 advertisement for the International News Service "Today's News In Pictures," and was meant to be displayed where papers were sold. The genuine photo of Thorpe at Stockholm with all of his Olympic awards is mounted on cardboard backing with International News Service copyright and the "1912" time stamp. The paper caption below explains that Thorpe was forced to forfeit his Olympic awards because he had played professional baseball in 1909 and 1910. The piece measures 14.25x20" framed and appears to be in EX condition.
