British light-heavyweight Freddie Mills began his boxing career the year he won this Sterling silver trophy in 1936. It comes with a stand that features a silver plaque with the engraving: "Won By F. Mills, Bournemouth, Westover Boxing Talent Comp 1936." The lot also includes: Turf Cigarettes mini card, Famous Fighter Swap Card, The Ring magazine from 1948 and a Freddie Mills book, in which this award is mentioned on page 17: "You've won the final. Stop in the ring; they're going to give you a prize, and sure enough a minute later I found myself holding a silver rose bowl."
