After picking through thousands of sports photos from the Cincinnati Enquirer files, these ten Type I photos were chosen to represent, with photographer stamps, the early career of Oscar Robertson at the University of Cincinnati and the Royals from 1957-1960. Four are of the Royals and have Twyman in the shot, stamped by the photographer on the verso. One has Thyman and Thacker, stamped by photographer Whitteker, and a few have 1961 thru 1963 date stamps. One depicts Oscar signing a contract with the Cincinnati Royals, date stamped 1960; University of CIncinatti, date stamped 1957, when he was only 19; University of Cincinnati, team shot after winning championship game, stamped by photographer; beautiful action shot of just Oscar, stamped by Whitteker; and a 1960 stamped image of Big O achieving a scoring record. The last one is a a 5x7" image of Oscar being weighed in college. All other photos are 8x10" with a few 7x9", overall condition is EX-MT. NOTE: Just added are two extremely rare Type I photos of Oscar in the Army. These are official Fort Jackson photos stamped on versos and signed by the information officer. We have NEVER seen these before.
