From the Erskine collection, this 8x10" Type I photo shows then-Vice President Richard Nixon shaking hands with Dodgers player Carl Erskine. To immortalize a memorable and important moment in his life, he wrote a letter on his stationery (5.5x8.5"), capturing it for the ages, and he signs his name over the printed "Carl Erksine" on his letterhead. In his hand, written clearly in black ink, is "Yankee Stadium Club House after the 5th game 1952 Dodgers won 6-5 in eleven innings - Richard Nixon congratulate me on pitching all eleven innings..." The letter is attached with tape but can easily be removed. Also, Carl Erskine wrote information on the back of the photo. Condition overall is EX+ to NRMT.
