This extremely rare cloth served as an advertising banner for the best cup in the set. This popular set of Cincinnati Reds thermal cups were issued in 1966 and distributed at gasoline stations, and the fabulous artwork was done by well-known sports illustrator Nicholas Volpe. Banners of the players are known, but this is the only known specimen with Pete Rose on it. The banner is a masterful seven feet tall and 3.5 feet wide, displaying gorgeous colors. These were hung in the Cincinnati area outside of Tressler Comet Gas Stations, where you could buy one of these nifty cups for 39 cents plus tax. Very Good condition with original grommets at top for hanging.
