Less than a month before he won the Kentucky Derby with the fourth-fastest time on record, Spend a Buck spent some time running some preliminary races with great success. One of the most crucial was at the Cherry Hill Mile in New Jersey, the first of two races in two weeks at the newly-opened Garden State Park Racetrack. It was one of four wins that brought a two-million dollar bonus to the Hunter Farm's stables. This 13"-tall trophy from that race consists of a large crystal vase sitting atop a wooden base, with a plaque reading "Garden State Park" with logo and "The Cherry Hill Mile, $200,000 Added, April 6, 1985, Won By: Hunter Farm's, Spend A Buck." The prize comes directly from the family of Dennis Diaz, owner of Hunter Farm's and Send A Buck. It is in EX-MT condition.
