One of the decade's great horses, Temperence Hill won the 1980 Belmont at odds of 53-1 and then went on to win that year's Eclipse as Champion Three-Year-Old Colt. He also won the Travers, beat John Henry in winning the Jockey Club Gold Cup, and won the inaugural running of the Super Derby by almost six lengths. This rare vintage saddle cloth that pre-dates the color-coding system that's now prevalent in the sport was worn by Temperence Hill in his 2nd place finish in the 1981 Californian.
