Displayed is a 1950 Joe DiMaggio New York Yankee professional model Hillerich and Bradsby bat, Model Number: D29L. In 1950, the Hall of Fame center fielder was playing the next-to-last season of his career. It turned out to be his last great season. That year, the Yankee Clipper batted .301, with 32 homers, 122 RBIs, and an AL leading slugging percentage of .585. The Yankees were once again World Champions in 1950. DiMaggio played his entire Major League career for the Yankees: 1936-42, and after three years in the U.S. Army during World War II, 1946-51. In JOe's famous 1941 season, he set the all-time record for a consecutive games hitting streak at 56 games, and batted .357 for the year, with 30 homers and an AL leading 125 RBIs. Plus, Joltin' Joe did all that while striking out for only an amazing 13 times all season. He also was a 3-time AL MVP and a 9-time World Champion.

The offered bat reads "Hillerich & Bradsby/Louisville Slugger 125/Powerized" on the barrel. Etched into near the barrel end is "Joe Di Maggio", with Joe's last name still being spelled as two separate words. The Model Number "D29L" is stamped on the knob. The bat has a length of 36.0" and a weight of 34.6 ounces. The bat is ash, with a standard finish. At 36" and today 35 ounces, the length and weight of the offered bat are consistent with bats ordered by DiMaggio during the 1950 season. Because of the offered bat having a "Powerized" P-8 near the label, a variation, which appeared from 1950-60, and the C-15A center brand, which appeared 1948-50, the bat can be dated as 1950. The bat has an alteration on the knob as well as a chip on the knob. The bat has what could be small paint transfers and a few ball marks. Overall, the bat shows light use. The offering comes with a PSA LOA that states the opinion of PSA that the bat was manufacted foir DiMaggio during 1950.
