Displayed is a Chuck Klein cut autograph. Klein, nicknamed "the Hoosier Hammer," was a Hall of Fame outfielder who spent the majority of his career with the Philadelphia Phillies (1928-33 & 1936-39 & 1940-44). He also played parts of three seasons with the Chicago Cubs and part of the 1939 season with the Pittsburgh Pirates. A left-handed batter, Klein adored the short right field wall at the Phillies' home park, Baker Bowl. In 581 games there, he belted 164 homers and batted .395. For his Major League career, Klein batted .320 with 300 home runs. He was a 4-time NL home run leader and won the NL MVP in 1932, and the NL Triple Crown in 1933.
The cut signature is on a piece of paper or card stock that most likely was originally beige or white but has darkened somewhat over the years. Klein penned a neat, flowing signature with blue fountain ink. The offering has been encapsulated and PSA/DNA Certified as "AUTHENTIC AUTO." The cut signature is in EXCELLENT condition.
