Presented is The Golf Course Book, signed by famous golf course architect Robert Trent Jones, a designer and re-designer of over 500 U.S. golf courses. Jones was born in Scotland and moved as a boy to the United States. He studied golf course design at Cornell University. He sometimes worked creatively with famed golfer Bobby Jones, no relation, on golf course design and as a result he began to add his middle name to show what he called himself to distinguish himself from Bobby Jones. When Robert Trent Jones worked with Bobby Jones on the redesign of the 11th and 16th holes at Augusta National Golf Course, the former's name became very well-known. Robert Trent Jones received the prestigious Old Tom Morris Award, and he is an inductee into the World Golf Hall of Fame.
The Golf Course Book was written by Geoffrey S. Cornish and Ronald E. Whitten, and Robert Trent Jones wrote the foreword. The book contains mainly golf course photographs, many in vivid color. It was published by The Rutledge Press, in New York, New York, in 1981. Using a dark blue or black ballpoint pen, Robert Trent Jones penned a clearly written signature on the book's title page. The book is in EXCELLENT condition, and it comes with a PSA LOA for the signature.
