Displayed is a riveting Eric Clapton photo print on canvas that has been signed by the iconic guitarist, singer, and songwriter. Clapton is one of the best blues artists in history, and he placed second in Rolling Stone's list of the 100 greatest guitarists of all time. He was born in 1945, in Ripley, Surrey, England, and he became seriously interested in playing blues music on guitar when he was fifteen years old. He then began to master the necessary guitar chords to play his favorite music, the blues. In fact, well into his career, Clapton defined his love for the blues: "I am, and always will be," he proudly admitted, "a blues guitarist." He has been influenced by, among others, B.B. King, Muddy Waters, and Buddy Guy. Clapton has been a part of many groups over his career. To name some: The Yardbirds, John Mayall & the Bluesbreakers, Cream, Blind Faith, and Eric and the Dominos. Clapton battled and overcame addictions to drugs and alcohol at earlier points in his career. He is nicknamed "Slowhand" because when he is playing on stage and breaks a guitar string, he replaces the string right on stage as the audience engages in a rhythmic, slow hand clap until the string is replaced. One of Clapton's biggest hits is "Layla." Another great Clapton hit is "My Father's Eyes," based on his own father. In 1991, Eric's four-year-old son, Conor, died after falling out of a 53rd-floor window in New York City. Clapton's later song, springing from his grief after losing his son, was Tears in Heaven, which won three Grammy Awards. At age 79, Clapton continues to compose music and perform. His latest album, Meanwhile, was released on Sirius Radio on October 4, 2024, and the album is scheduled to be released on vinyl and CDs on January 24, 2025. Clapton has received 18 Grammy Awards, and he is the only 3-time inductee to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, being inducted as a solo artist, and as a member of both The Yardbirds and Cream. The offered signed artistic photo measures 16x19.5". In bright, vivid colors, the rendering shows Clapton totally immersed in playing his Fender guitar onstage. The brilliant lead guitarist signed the artistic photo in black marker. The signed artistic photograph on canvas makes an apt remembrance for a world-renowned musician who plays on, well into his seventh decade of life, happily driven to give his all on stage. "Every time you pick up your guitar to play," said the incredible, blues improviser, "play as if it's the last time." This inspiring offering is in EXCELLENT condition.
