Rogers Hornsby is clearly one of the greatest right-handed batters of all time. Presented is a circa 1935 Rogers Hornsby original George Burke image that was used for the second baseman's 1935 National Chicle image. Hornsby played 23 Major League seasons (1915-41): St. Louis Cardinals (1915-26 & '33), plus five seasons with the St. Louis Browns and time with the Chicago Cubs, New York Giants, and Boston Braves. His lifetime MLB batting average of .358 is second all-time to that of only Ty Cobb. Hornsby won seven batting titles and hit over .400 in three seasons, with his highest batting average occurring in 1924 when he batted .424 for the Cardinals. Hornsby was a 2-time Triple Crown winner and a 2-time NL MVP. The photo measures 4x6". Hornsby is depicted demonstrating the follow through of his swing. The verso has the stamp of famed photographer George Burke, and the typed "361-A7" and Rogers Hornsby. The photograph is in EXCELLENT condition, and it has been encapsulated and PSA graded TYPE I AUTHENTIC.
