From the collection of the son of Ty Cobb's best friend, this Cobb signed T206 portrait photo is simply remarkable. Proudly wearing his Detroit Tigers uniform with flipped up collar, the Georgia Peach is young, determined looking and on his way to recording his Hall of Fame .367 all-time batting average. Black and white 5x7" photograph is signed and inscribed, "To a really fine person who I shall always reverence, Ty Cobb" as well as "1905 - to Mary from Ty" below in blue. A personal note on the back reads, "About 1906 - before the hard playing competitive days, just an innocent southern boy" in green. Minor crease on bottom right corner otherwise EX condition.
