A splendid piece of memorabilia from the Splinter. Ted Williams wore this cap during the 1955 All-Star Game held in Milwaukee, then gave it to visiting clubhouse manager Tommie Ferguson. The blue McAuliffe manufactured cap (size 7 3/8") has a red "B" on the front and the number "9" written on the underside of the brim in marker. The cap shows considerable use but is still in overall EX condition. Williams' famous #9 is right on with just the correct amount of fading and wear. This cap was in Tommie Ferguson's collection for many years. When Ferguson finally decided to put the hat into the market, he wrote a letter that detailed how he acquired this outstanding piece. The letter has been misplaced prior to Lelands involvement, but we do know that it read, "In 1955 I was employed by the Milwaukee Braves as the visiting clubhouse manager. The 1955 All-Star game was held in Milwaukee and I had the privilege of having the American League All-Star players in my clubhouse. After Ted Williams finished playing in the game, I asked him for his cap and he gave it to me. This cap has been in my possession ever since that day." This Ted Williams game used cap worn in the 1955 All-Star Game is indeed 100% authentic and original. Comes with Lelands LOA.
