Great collection of Lone Ranger items, issued by Gum Inc. in 1940. First is a complete set of 48 cards, in very respectable collector condition. Series 1 cards (#s 1-24) grade EX: 2, VG-EX: 9, VG: 7, GD: 4 and 2 slightly lesser. The more difficult Series 2 cards (#s 25-48) grade EX-MT: 4, EX: 5, VG-EX: 2, VG: 8, GD: 3 and 2 slightly lesser. Strong colors and detailed artwork show throughout. Also included is a complete set of much-tougher Lone Ranger premiums (5; ACC designation ‘R83A’), which could be obtained by sending 10¢ and 25 wrappers to Gum Inc. The premiums, each 8x10”, grade VG-EX: 3 and VG: 2. There are also 2 back variations; 3 are blank-backed and 2 have full descriptions of the scene on the front along with instructions on how to obtain additional premiums. A rarely seen bonus to any Lone Ranger set. Total of 48 cards plus 5 premiums.
