High grade collection of 1950s auto-related collectibles. This grand offering includes: 1) (30) different Wheaties Auto Emblems. Each emblem is made of steel, brightly colored and in MINT condition. Original back panel ad from Wheaties box is included. 2) Near-complete collections of 1953/1954 metal license plates from Wheaties/General Mills, all in MINT condition. A total of 131 plates are included. The 1953 plates came attached to specially marked boxes of Wheaties, with 80 plates in all. 3) 49 U.S. (48 states and D.C.), 5 U.S. Territories (VI, GU, CZ, AK, HI), 12 Canadian provinces, and 14 assorted foreign countries. The 1954 plates were available only by mail; they came five plates to a mailer and cost a quarter. There were 49 plates (48 states and D.C.) No territories, Canadian or foreign plates were issued. All are in beautiful condition. 4) Collection of Topps license plate cards, including 1949 Stop ‘N Go (10) (EX to EX-MT), 1960-dated mini-plates (59), and 1950 License Plate cards (198) (1.75x2.75"), sporting both back variations of many states (ie, name that car, or a question about the state), and many still having the scratch-off coating on the reverse. Overall, the cards grade approx. 25% EX-MT or better, 25% EX to EX-MT, 30% VG-EX to EX, 15% VG to VG-EX and 5% lesser. A great collection of auto memorabilia to own - for the auto enthusiast in all of us.
