First of its type we have seen, this is a vintage albumen print in original frame depicting William Thompson ("alias Bendigo"). Made in the 1870s, the albumen print is similar to carte de visites and lists the pugilist as the "Champion of England." In addition to the printed list of fights won spanning from 1832 to 1845, a handwritten note added to the bottom of the list states, "Beat Tom Paddock 49 Rounds, June 5, 1850." Framed to 11x13.5", there are some chips in the frame but item still presents splendidly.
